Introduction

Being bilingual or multilingual is an enormous asset and an intellectual accomplishment. There have been also arguments on disadvantages of bilingual education like that it slows down the learning of English and therefore the adaptation of immigrants to American language and culture. Bilingual education is a debated subject in the United States and Australia.

The communicative approach is term language training for a view of learning based on the meaning and context of the statement in a communication situation. This approach runs counter to the earlier views by focusing more on form and structure of language and context. It is important to consider the opposition in the linguistic theories to better understand the concept of traditional approaches (Baepler, Paul, 2003, pp. 90-111).

Communicative Approach Behavior

The communicative approach in language teaching is born in a period when the behavioral structuralism pedagogues were booming. If the audio-oral methods and audiovisual years 60 to 70 provided that the contribution of new technologies in language courses, still attracted many of the traditional structuralism approaches. Behaviorism was the introduction of prefabricated structures to repeat and consolidate through a process of stimulation and the response from teacher to student. The way the "Feedback" traditionally delivered by the teacher will now be produced by the students themselves, monopolizing the ability to change and improve each and cooperation (Bax, 2003, pp. 278-287).

Brief Summary of the Communicative Approach

The communicative approach is a common teaching that was developed in France since the 2000's as a reaction against sound and audiovisual methodology. Apparently, when it is a challenge in Britain and the approach to the situation in which the transformational-generative grammar U.S. Chomsky is right at the climax.
