Introduction

Under the Butler Education Act 1944 and 1976, the school systems in Britain, are structured by the Great Britain and was organized in Northern Ireland and Wales, also known as tripartite system. Schools in England, specially the secondary schools are divinized into three main categories, and student is given admission according to their performance in the examination taken by them. These categories of secondary schools are entitles as secondary, technical and modern schools. During the era of 50's and 60's, the system was lying under the political governmental system, which was not under the favour to support labor government. Due to this main reason, in 1976, the new system was implemented, replacing the older one. This new system brings the proper understanding of education process in England, and many other countries also adopted the same system. (Stevens, 2002)

Organization

Government is running three categories of secondary school system under the current system. Each system was designed, in order to differentiate the student career, depending upon the skill level and knowledge he pertains.

Secondary School

The major intention of secondary school is to teach high level curriculum to a student. This teaching would help student to deal with different abstract of life. This education also focuses on providing the strong intellectual qualitites.The percentage rate of students who admitted and studies at High school is only 25%. Governinment is doing his best in order to develop such programs, which would help in raising the education level as well as admission rate in Britain. (Gramsci, 2009, 39)

Technical schools

The main aims of technical schools are to give training to the students in order to be proficient in scientific as well as mechanical subjects. The course outlines are planned as same that in secondary and modern school. The major issue that lie with the technical schools are the shortage of funding, that donor let these organizations to provide the information and training at vast level. The techniques been providivided by these organization are also very much limited. The technical school main focuses on giving the supply of engineers, technician and scientists to the market. (Lynn, 2007, 77)

Modern schools

Modern schools are also known as secondary Moderns. The students who are enrolled in these schools are given the practical knowledge rather than academic. These modern schools are perceived as the base of tripartite system. Even these schools are not backed by proper funding, but still the education rate is 70% of students in Britain.

The assessment criteria of these schools based on three tests; one test checks the mathematical ability of a student, the second one is general case, and the third test based on the general reasoning.
