The Government had launched its consultation in North of the dam, a statement that "the vast, renewable resource Severn tidal estuary is a means of obtaining almost 5% of UK electricity. There is a good case for providing additional support for renewable energy sources (in addition to the support received for the avoidance of CO2 emissions through EU Emissions Trading System). If the renewable technologies are not yet ripe, their costs should fall as the money poured into their development and deployment (www.eprg.group.cam.ac.uk).

Just as in the past, large sums have been spent in developing nuclear power (see figure 1 below) and, through defense contracts, high efficiency gas turbines, which revolutionized the production of electricity, so now we must spend large sums of development of renewable energy to the fact that they are commercially attractive in developing countries. If this happens, climate, emissions will not simply be reduced in the EU, but also in the wider world that helps save the planet (www.eprg.group.cam.ac.uk).

It is a powerful argument, but needs to be verified. Wind generation costs fell more sharply, as wind generation has been deployed to the extent that they are competitive (on shore) with coal and gas generation, providing the latter to pay the price of EU carbon € 30/tonne (the projected level). Photovoltaic (PV) panel also witnessed a dramatic fall in value, technology chip Driven IT revolution has stimulated the development (although they are still too expensive for the majority of cases).

Figure 2 shows the result of increased production of various technologies, where suggestion that the expansion of production technology (a proxy for increased adoption of these technologies) results in the learning process in practice and that the fall in costs.
