Abstract

This research proposal will help the employers in taking actions and placing policies that can help them in managing their employees against the use of social networking applications within the working hours. The aim of this paper will be to enforce the employees to be accountable for their use of social networking applications within the organizational setup. The employers need to place such social networking policies that can force the employees in taking responsibility for the usage of social networking applications without affecting the reputation of the organization as well as their performance.

I. Introduction

One of most critical issue that most of the organizations are going through is an excessive use of social networking applications within the duty hours. Social networking applications are designed in such a way that once an individual has logged into these applications will get enough enjoyment stuff that he or she would not be able to come out of it so early. This issue has been observed quite often these days, this is the reason that more research is going on it to identify and highlight the issues and benefits of using social networking applications in our daily life. Social networking applications have become a great source of leisure but it is found that people use it during their working hours without noticing that they have enough work remaining for the day. After all employers need productivity and profitability from their employees and that is only possible if the employees are working according to the designed and established public and administration policies for the organization. An organization cannot succeed in it mission until and unless it is having effective policies and procedures that can facilitate in managing organizational system.

There are various organizations that have blocked various social networking applications within the organizational setup and their main motive was to enhance the productivity level and gain profits as employees will be solely working on their assigned tasks and duties and will not be looking for any recreation during their duty hours. Nowadays, young workers are so engrossed in these social networking applications that they join an organization with an expectation that they will be having all these applications at their disposal within the organizational setup as well.

Facebook, twitter and some other social networking applications are the most favourite applications that every single individual is found using it and everyone have their personal accounts on each of these social media sites. There are employers who wish to know what changes in the productivity and profitability will be observed by making the employees accountable for the usage of social networking applications within the organizational setup.
