Introduction

Snow White is a famous fairy tale having best version in German collected by Brother Grimm in 1812. Snowhite is known and famous in many countries in Europe. Numbers of movies and cartoons have also been based on this story of a innocent princess.

Snow White - Origins and Development

“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is a fairy tale origin of which is linked with the collection of folk tales. These tales were collected and written by Brothers Grimm- Jacob and Wilhelm between 1812-1815. At some point the origin is debated because it is not said to be older than middle ages. Whereas, it has been noticed that there are two versions of Snow White. Both of these version comprises of different concepts, one where jealous sisters tries to kill her and second in which Step mother tries to kill Snow white (Jacob, 2005).

Formation

It is the story of a girl who faces consequences due to her step mother's jealousy of her beauty. This story begins with an introduction of a queen, a beautiful woman who ruled a kingdom. She had a step daughter with the name Snow White. Queen had a magic mirror which use to give her true answers of whatever she asks for. Every day, she use to ask her magic mirror if she the most beautifull women. The mirror use to tell her everyday that her beauty is not to be found in the world. The evil queen was yet beautiful, the mirror use to tell her that she is Lucifer, light-bearer, the most beautiful of them all. One day, a "magic mirror", i.e. a reflection of herself told her that her beauty was less than the beauty of Snow white. That morning she came to know that Snow White's beauty has surpassed her beauty. Snow White was not the person Queen believed to be as she thought Snow White was not so beautiful, and not so powerful. Since then she became wicked and rebelled. She got mad with jealousy and sent one of her knight to take Snow White into the forest and kill her.

She sent Lucifer to kil her so she can become the most beautiful woman in the world. Lucifer wanted to kill Snow White but he could not. He instead left her in the forest to live her life away from Queen so she do not kill her. That night for Snow White was the struggle between angels, whites, children of light, the Mutiny, and the children of darkness. After a night haunted by the most appalling horrible imaginations of the princess, Snow White was guided by animals to a small cottage. She came and took the time to make a household very useful to be followed by a long nap. That's when the people returned, they were seven dwarfs: Prof., Sneezy, Sleepy, Happy, Grumpy, Bashful and Dopey (Cashdan, 1999).
