Introduction

What motivates a company to adopt a Social Responsibility policy is less important than what is accomplished, as a result. The mere act of reporting on sustainability efforts opens up the possibility of improved efforts, as it requires the General Motors to self-assess. While that may be arguable, the fact that it is in an General Motors's best interest to formulate and act on Social Responsibility seems clear. Because Waitrose did not think of social responsibility, a serial of scandals and phenomena awakened it that not only scientific and economic developments were important, but also building a harmonious society and elimination of these society discord. Thus, the voice of Waitrose must fulfill its social responsibilities that arise with time.

The phrase corporate citizenship highlights the fact that that a corporate is a legal person, with status, rights and obligations like a human being. It is used to draw connection lines between General Motors activity and the wider social accountability and service for mutual benefit. As upstanding citizens, companies are expected to abide by laws and regulations. Waitrose, in our case, realizes its obligations towards maintaining its citizenship as a unit. It pays taxes and responds to needs just as people. Waitrose cleans up after their emissions and industrial wastes (Russo & Tencati, 2009). Any form of environmental challenge, which arises from, corporations, including deforestation and pollution, is attended to in good corporate citizenship. With an increasing focus on cross border trade, multinational corporations faced increased demand to adopt Social Responsibility policies detailing their approaches to human resource management practices, environmental protection, health and safety, and sustainable, economical development in their foreign operations (Dubbink, Graafland & Liedekerke, 2008). As the urgency to respond to the challenge of global climate change has become apparent, many are convinced the scope of Social Responsibility should be expanded to include the international community.

The dimension that every day becomes more important in the General Motors world is Corporate Social Responsibility. It is a commitment that can be social, environmental or otherwise, acquired by companies to their environment and that achieves a balance in what he gives and receives from the environment in which they work (Bansal, 2008). So far in the eye Corporate Social Responsibility has always been on large companies, not only for its great impact on their environment, but also for the important work that, since its position can be performed in this field. However, Corporate Social Responsibility is not a matter for only the big multinationals.
