Introduction

Social Security tends to be interpreted as assistance program developed by a country to provide protection to its citizens on several grounds. However, the basic aim of social security system is to help the citizens of the country to counter different social problems and rise above those problems to serve the country and improve their lifestyle in every context. Social security system tends to cater to different areas such as poverty, old age, unemployment benefits, providing help to people with any disabilities and many others. However, these benefits tend to differ based on the structure of the social system of that country (Rivers, 1997).However, the right of social security tends to be acknowledged in the Universal declaration of the human rights. Precisely the aim of any social security system is to help its citizens to at least attain the basic necessities of life. In the context of this paper, we will be analyzing the social security system of United States of America with Canada.

Similarities

Social Security System of Canada and United States seems to stand on the same foundation which is to serve its people. Both the systems intend to develop a better lifestyle and improve the living conditions of its citizens. This section of the paper intends to point out the similarities between the Social Security systems of both countries. Today Canada and United States of America stands among the HD 1 countries. The social security system of both the countries tends to provide old age benefits to the people. Who tend to fall under the bracket of senior citizens, and those who are not able to serve anymore in order to earn a living due to their age. Both countries have a sting retirement plan and benefits attached to their social security systems respectively.

The systems of the both the countries tend to help even those citizens who are not able to find employment due to varying reason. The government comes to the rescue of such people because t is the responsibility of the respective governments to create opportunities for employment for each of its citizens. Not only the respective governments people who are not able to find employment, but even those who have a low income, this is step intended to eliminate poverty (Kim, 2000). Social Security system, of United States and Canada tends to serve people with any disability so that they are able to enjoy their life as much as the normal people like to enjoy.

Both the social security systems tend to include the health care insurance for such people. Children tend to be the most effective asset for any country as this both the systems tend to serve their children with an equal amount of care. The governments of both countries have internal mechanisms in place to serve this purpose (John, 2002). Educations in both countries tend to have equal importance.
