Abstract

This paper focus on the socio technical perspective with the purpose of productivity in the organization and helpful in managing information that is overloaded and cannot be solve alone by the technical and organizational solution itself. However, social system includes all individuals and team behavior that can influence performance of work, whereas, the technical part includes the type of production technology, the level of interdependence and the complexity of the tasks. The goal of this is to design a job that best fit in between the social and technical element of the system for the achievement of the joint optimization. This approach attempts to find a substantial balanced between the capacities of employees and the technical requirement of the organizational production system. Socio-technical principally is concern about organization work and division of labor where minimum division of labor is promoted. Overall system's productivity, motivation and worker's involvement are the criteria of job design that enables joint optimization.

Introduction

Socio-technical is the work design that is a complex approach of organization that identifies the interaction between the people at the work place and technology using in that work place. It is also the interaction between the complex infrastructures of the society and behavior of the human. In organizational development, certain approaches are adopted which help the organization in producing more productive work. These approaches are term as job design, which consists of the process that enables the productivity of the organization. Numerous researchers, while studying the technological systems information suggested that a combination of the two sub-systems was needed to overcome the workers difficulty for the achievement of the organizational goal. These two sub systems are the social system and the technical system.

The elements of the socio are, the people and the group that works in organization associated with the work organized and coordinated, whereas, the technical elements are the materials, tools, machine and processes used to transform organizational inputs into output. In other words, it is recognized as the interaction of the technical and human elements in effective job design. Socio-technical provides to participate in the decision which is influences by the work explicitly through fundamental elbow room. Beside this, adequate feedback from the workers provides possibilities of continuous learning. Reciprocal appreciation and mutual assist from work colleagues to account for possible inabilities or lack of competencies. The future possible growth in knowledge, skills, and competencies in expected.

The Socio-Technical theory in every organization imagines the existence of two subsystems they are the technical sub-system and the social sub-system (Cartelli, 2007). The systems that IT suppliers offer are enterprise that has features that provide facilities to support the business functions are information storage, processing and communication of organizations.
