Software Quality Characteristics

Software Quality Characteristics

Software Quality is the distinctiveness of the software as the degree of compliance. The requirements can be interpreted quite widely, which raises a number of independent definitions of the term. The most commonly used definition of ISO 9001 according to which the money is "the extent to which the inherent characteristics of the requirements. Software quality control software receiving, quality management, statistical analysis, treatment of non-compliance, management means measures. Software quality is an operational response to the certification of your quality management.

There are 3 major points of the definition of software quality:

1 - Software requirements are the foundation from which quality is measured

2 - Specific principles characterize a set of development criterion that directs how the application of software engineering will be applied.

3 - There are implicit requirements that are not mentioned

A high quality product requires less maintenance and provides both development and maintenance productivity. By measuring quality can achieve these goals. In regard to maintenance, quality measurement software helps identify reliability issues and improve techniques for identifying maintenance needs (Xenos & Stavrinoudis, 1996, pp. 267-275). The definition of key quality characteristics of ISO 9126-1 for the measurement of software quality are discussed below;

Functionality

Functional capacity refers to the ability of software functionality to meet the needs of users expressed or implied. These include accuracy, interoperability, standards compliance and security. These are the set of attributes pertaining to the essence of a set of functions and their specific properties. Functions are those that are implementing to established or proposed requirements: This set of attributes characterizes the fact that the software performs to meet the needs, while other sets are mainly characterized by when and how it is done-is. In this characterization for the set and take into account the anticipated needs of the note to the definition of quality (Stephen, 2002, pp.116-127).

Reliability

The reliability is the ability of software to correct results regardless of the operating conditions. These include fault tolerance and the ability of software to work even being handicapped by the failure of one component (software or hardware). This is the ability of software to provide failure free operation in a given environment in any specific time. The ruling is not consistent with any requirements of the software. There are varying degrees of failure; these may simply be confusing or catastrophic.
