Discussion

Steve Jobs, the father of the first personal computer (Apple I) and founder of Apple Computer, the computer wizard was one of the most influential of the technological escalation known to the world (Butcher, 1987, pp 28 - 31). Contributing decisively to the popularization of computers, Steve Jobs was the person whose visionary ideas in the field of personal computers, digital music or mobile telephony market and revolutionized the habits of millions of people for over four decades (Denning, & Frenkel, 1989, pp 436 - 433).

Childhood

Steve Jobs, was born on February 24, 1955. His biological parents were Joanne Carole Schieble and Abdulfattah Jandali (of Syrian origin), who gave him up for adoption after birth (Denning, & Frenkel, 1989, pp 436 - 433). Although during his childhood he lived in the city of San Francisco, at the age of 6 years the family decided to move to Mountain View, which began to appear as a hub of many companies dedicated to electronics, an area that would eventually become Silicon Valley area (Levy, 1994, pp 125 - 131).

Youth

During his youth, Steve Jobs attended Cupertino schools and Homestead High School, California, a city that later became synonymous with Apple. After school, he used to attend lectures and classes at Hewlett-Packard Company in Palo Alto, also in California. Some time later Steve got a summer job in this company, where he met another emblematic figure of the technology and the famous Apple: Steve Wozniak (Butcher, 1987, pp 28 - 31).

In 1972, Steve Jobs graduated from high school and began studies at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. However, Steve Jobs left these studies after a semester but continued to attend classes as a listener to those he considered interesting (Denning, & Frenkel, 1989, pp 436 - 433). He called those years some of the most wonderful and exciting years of his life, Steve Jobs slept on the floor of the rooms of his friends, with soda bottle caps to trade for money, and attended a Hare Krishna temple once a week to have a decent meal (Levy, 1994, pp 125 - 131). Later in 1974, Steve Jobs returned to California where he began hanging out with Wozniak at meetings of the Homebrew Computer Club, and also accepted a job as a technician at Atari (the popular video game company) with a goal in mind: saving money and travelling to a retreat in India, which eventually succeeded.
