Introduction

The assignment is based on the Clarion Group strategic planning. This planning is based on important aspects and components of managerial strategies. The Clarion hotel needs to introduce a segment for a new market that is luxury packaging tour. The Clarion group is considering strategic planning for the implementation of new segment as well as to get profitable business in long term. The paper includes significant and comprehensive strategies along with Macro environmental impact; it has also focused on Macro Environmental Impact Proposed Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning Strategy. The paper includes new product/Service Proposed, Proposed Marketing Programme, and Service Marketing Model. This paper has strongly presents a strategic management and planning approaches that will help Clarion Hotel to earn profits and increase its market share.

Strategic planning is a management tool that helps increase the chances of success when you want to achieve something in situations of uncertainty and / or conflict (opposition intelligent). It is based on management by objectives and responds primarily the question "Do's". Situations such as creating or restructuring a business, identifying, and evaluating programs and projects, the formulation of a development plan, the implementation of a policy, the conquest of a market, the positioning of a product or service, resolution conflict, are examples of cases where the Strategic Planning is especially useful.

Problem Statement

Due to falling visitor numbers and sustained price competition, hotels current value sales declined by 11% in 2011 to reach €1.3 billion, According to a survey by the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF), 88% of hoteliers were concerned about the viability of their business in 2011, with approximately two thirds expecting that they would have to reduce staff levels. Around a quarter of respondents reported that business was down by more than 25%. A further 39% reported a drop in business of 10% to 25%, with just 18% stating that business was down by less than 10%. This motivated the author to bring strategic planning for the improvement of the Clarion Hotel.
