In today's business world, IT plays a very significant part in the day to day operations of an organization. Every day organizations require greater involvement of IT services. Even if, IT is not the business of an organization, still it assist in managing the operations and keep the things working in an effective and systematic way. IT also helps the organization in the communication process amongst the management and the employees. Nowadays, the futurists have different viewpoints the miracles of the advancements of technologies. Some view it as a positive development while others think that it is possible that there will never be a dramatic and sudden change because of the growth of artificial intelligence (Bloomfield, 75). Nevertheless, majority of the scientists and futurists agree on the fact that the increase of technological changes is immense.

According to Oxford dictionary, “IT is a study or use of systems such as computers and telecommunications for storing, retrieving and sending information.” Sending, retrieving and storing the information are few of the most basic day to day tasks in all the organization. This shows the actual IT value and the important role it plays in the success of the organizations. This paper will describe the significance of IT value as an organizational strategy and the importance of IT policy and control for the management in the development of IT.

IT value is one of the most powerful tools to majority of the organizations and assists to deliver value to the organizations as well as assist in overcoming the challenges. To retrieve the maximum benefits and overcome challenges, it is important that the IT value of an organization is properly planned and effectively managed. This indicates that It value and management is a proper strategic activity not merely a something which the technical teams do (Krigsman, 2010). Some of the benefits and characteristics of IT value as an organizational strategy are:

No doubt the strategic definition of IT services and activities has become a reality. Proper management of the information issued to the first line of care, overturned by customers and users, is vital both to generate responses to incidents and service requests to extend a database to detect trends and proactively spots (Basualdo, 2010). It seems logical that those IT companies that direct their gaze towards the horizon above change are better able to meet the challenges of internal and market. Multifactorial reality forces organizations to align their interests with the demands of customers looking for business alignment and its services which can be done through the utilizing IT value as an organizational strategy.
