Systems Analysis and Systems Design

Introduction

In this paper, we will present a discussion on the systems analysis and system design in detail. Later on, we will be discussing the different components of business information system, and rich pictures, soft system methodology, system development life cycle, and data flow diagramming and information flow diagrams.

System analysis and system design are the two main components of the system development. Systems design involves the planning of a new business system or the process of enhance or replace the existing business system. On the other hand, system analysis involves gathering of all the facts and figures, and then analyse them by diagnosing the problems and making recommendations for improvement of the system.

In the system design, before planning of a new business system, one must have the complete knowledge of the old system and should also know how to use the computers in a best way to make the operation more effective and efficient.

There is a misunderstanding regarding the concept of the soft system methodology that they only deal with the soft problems which involve the social, psychological, and cultural factors. However, this is not true since this method does not deal with solely hard or soft problems; but ...
