Introduction

Project management refers to a situation when an effort is made in a planned manner to complete a specific project. This comprises of planning, organizing and managing resources that helps in making the project accomplished. The process of project management includes the project planning, identification of activities and goals that are supposed to achieve. A well performed project directs to the enrichment of the business. Project management is comprised of five kinds of processes. These include: initiation, planning, executing, controlling and closing. A well executed project can be assessed on these steps. Professionally, project management should be carried on the basis of different projects and the goals which are set up in order to achieve it (King, 2000, pp. 18).

Discussion

Project management often faces some gaps in the process. These include different kind of barriers like uncommitted team workers, lack of resources, lack of planning, shortage of time, etc. For this paper, we have selected the gap of “uncommitted team members” in the process of project management.

Demotivation in Project team Members

A project leader cannot maintain enthusiasm and spirit to achieve high results in the joint venture members of his team, if he does not pay attention to the problems that can adversely affect the level of motivation (Kathy, 2000, pp. 363). Among the most important issues that may affect the motivation of members of the management teams, are the following.

Shortcomings in the organization of the management team

The uncertainty of the goals of the management team

Lack of understanding of the leaders of the goals of the organization

Bad possibilities for communication and exchange of information between supervisors

The lack of understanding between the individual leaders

Inefficient system of incentives of managers

The lack of individual managers the opportunity to participate in the preparation and discussion of decisions made by the management team.

Negative past experience in the management team

The lack of precision in counting the results of work performed and the analysis of the causes of failures in the implementation of the target

Unfavorable atmosphere during the meetings of the management team (the inability to listen to each other; discuss issues and raise voices, etc.)

Theory of Needs Abraham Maslow

Physiological needs: These are needs class and relate to survival, involving air, water, food, shelter, clothing, etc.. These needs are the first priority of the individual and are related to survival. Among these are, among others, needs as homeostasis (body effort to maintain a normal and constant blood supply), food, thirst-quenching, maintaining a proper body temperature, are also other needs such as sex, motherhood or complete activities.

Safety Needs: Relates to the tendency to preserve, in the face of danger, including the desire for security, stability and no pain. With satisfaction seeks the creation and maintenance of a state of order and security. Among these we find the need for stability, you have to have order and protection, among others.
