Introduction

“Technology is the usage and knowledge of tools, techniques, crafts, systems or methods of organization. It is the set of means, devices, tools, systems, methods and procedures that are created by technological process. Technology is reflected through the simplest, toothbrushes, to the most complex machines. (Evans, 2010)

Technological process is made possible through the knowledge of technology. It comprises of facts and procedures required in ordering and manipulating matter, energy, and information. Discovering new means for transformations is also technology. (Zucker, 1986) Today, we generally livelonger, much cleaner, healthier, and comparatively comfortable than most of our ancestors, thanks to technology. But, the problems that technology causes cannot be denied: transportation accidents leading to injuries and deaths, diseases and environmental damages due to pollution, moral dilemmas posed by medical technology, and tensions and frustration caused by the complexity of consumer devices.

Marks & Spencer is not only the largest retailer of clothing in the U.K, but also the pioneer of many innovations in technology. It was Stuard Rose, who in 2004, came along and gave the Marks & Spencer stores a new look and invented Trust and Innovative. (Cole, 2002)

Literature Review

Information systems (IS) researchers have been engaged in studying Cultural. The relationship between Information Technology and organizational culture (OC), for instance, has challenged many researchers and scholars from wide range of disciplines for almost thirty years. Yet information technology in culture of an organization, particularly systems working “right”, play a very important role in shaping an organization's reputation and growth. (Farr-Wharton, 2002)

Marks & Spencer, being highly technology-driven, is striving hard with major projects changes, despite the cautiousness over the economy. Marks & Spencer has been readily coming up with the lasest and most innovative of the ideas to implement in its product line. It has succesfully integrated the most effective and efficient ways of supporting its employeed to cater with the requirements of its customers.

Both Information Technology and logistics are the core of the development that inhibits in the cultural environment of MARKS & SPENCER. It ensures its technological implementations provide a good, pleasant, and helpful environment for its customers. That is the reason why MARKS & SPENCER is always focusing on improving its products as well as services. (Adler, 2001) Systems have been readily improved, including the supply chain processes, for example, an enhanced stock management system is being installed in order to provide accurate, real-time and efficient stock level stats. Moreover, Marks 7 Spencer extends its approaches to encompass the global world in order to expand its horizon of customers and form a the most reputable and reconized image in the minds of its current and potential customer.

New point-of-sale system, focussing on delivering cost efficiencies and better customer service, will soon be implemented in all stores.
