Introduction

Humans, with the Industrial Revolution, began to really change the face of the planet, and the quality of your water. Today, the unprecedented demand for the rapid growth of population human and technological development subject to the environment is producing an increasingly rapid decline in its quality and its ability to sustain life.

The protection of the environment has become a priority in a first-order need to ensure economic development and social and, above all, health and survival of the human species throughout the world. The science and technology are processes that are closely linked social among themselves, or affect, directly on the society. The influence these processes have on human life is not always positive, which is derived from the importance of the knowledge deep in their relationships.

During this century have wasted huge amounts of fossil fuels, despite the new sources found have delayed their future demise, there is no doubt that this will take place possibly in the next century (at least in the case of oil .) The needs to seek new sources of energy have been constant in this century and have thus been developed (among others) nuclear energy (fission) and so-called clean sources like solar or wind power. But what are the alternatives that present the next century?

It seems that the possibilities of the future in terms of new energy sources are primarily limited to two, solar and nuclear fusion. Why not solar and wind? Because while the second is unstable, as it depends on the wind, the former could not, if it is produced in space by a satellite and was issued in the form of energy from microwaves to a station on Earth, which again transform this energy into electricity (Taesler, 608).

However, today, nuclear fusion energy seems the most viable alternative. It feeds almost inexhaustible fuel because hydrogen is easily removed from water and, once controlled (which is ultimately the problem after trying to solve now), does not produce any kind of radioactive waste (the major flaw of the conventional nuclear fission power).

There is no doubt that obtaining a source of cheap and inexhaustible energy, along with obtaining more raw materials, a prerequisite for achieving real universal technology. The fact that approximately 20% of the population consumes 80% of resources makes us think that to achieve a certain equation or the population is reduced, or increases those resources. The energy seems to be on track to do so, but rather the raw materials are reduced. Solutions to this problem are not very clear. You can think of several things, from how to take advantage of the sweeping sea mineral reserves or better recycling systems, supplemented perhaps by a better utilization ...
