Technological Developments in Camera

Introduction

The camera is a device used to capture images or photographs. Technology has had a tremendous impact on all aspects of life - and cameras are no exception. Think for a moment, what would have happened if there were no technology. It is really a blessing in disguise for us because technological innovations in products, like camera, television, mobile phones, computer etc. have changed our life styles and have provided much needed comfort to the human beings. The technology began with television in the early 50's when researchers discovered how to convert video images to electrical signals for storage on tape. In the 70 electronic still cameras were developed photo. They used the first generation of image sensors solid state. By the late 80 megapixel sensors were introduced - the technology that paved the way to modern digital cameras today. First of all, it should be noted that the principle of creating an image the same, and a digital camera and film: both create a record of the subject using light energy, which affects the light-sensitive material.

The main difference is that in digital cameras, light strikes the light-sensitive electronic sensor, and a traditional camera - on the light sensitive film. In addition, the process of obtaining images in digital cameras is going on right inside the camera (shooting, processing and preservation as a file to be moved), and in film inside the camera are only shooting, while the processing and preservation of the footage made, usually outside the chamber. George Eastman is regarded as the pioneer in the field of photography. In the past, the profession of photography was not taken seriously. In recent times, the concept of photography has evolved and technological developments in cameras have made it possible for professionals to reap out maximum benefits. In this paper, a detailed account on how technological enhancements and developments have transformed a camera is presented (Fahmy, 2007, 82).

Technological Development in Camera

It all started with the development of television. Photographic cameras are in use since the ancient times and even today, their value cannot be under-estimated. A few years ago digital camera was something expensive, elitist, very few people available devices. High cost was due primarily to lack of experience in producing light-sensitive matrix of sufficient quality and resolution. While waiting for the sensor was low, the attention of both producers and consumers of cameras focused on the production technologies of sensors and their resolution. More recently, for many one of the main criteria when choosing a camera was just installed in the camera sensor. Today, generations of sensors are changing, but the sensor and its resolution will not have such a large value for consumers (Fahmy, 2007, 83).

For each step in the production of digital cameras is a huge technological base. Starting from the miniaturisation of electronic components camera and ending with the creation of light, but rugged package. Pick up any new compact ...
