Technology Plan

Technology Plan

Remember that, we said that technology treats not only the hardware and software. It is at this stage that you have to pay attention because your plan must indicate how the four architectures are tied together. Planning architecture once you have defined the nature of your business and the key business processes that you undertake. Some elements related to the implementation of the technology beyond the boundary between architectures, but it is because there are often two ways of looking at a problem. You will find below a list of some of the issues that must be addressed for each architecture. Again, you may want to call in outside help to develop your plan if you do not have service information technology or appropriate IPR permanent. The Gantt chart along with the specification details is shown below.

Upgradation Breakdown

Total Computers = 250

Between 9am to 5pm 250 PCs are in operation (can be anytime)

250x 8hrs x 7 days = 14,000 hrs

Between 5pm to 9am only 50% are in operation

125 x 16hrs x 7 days = 14,000 hrs

Total 28,000 hours per week <=> 500 staff

At total of 500 employees currently work in the office. The number is divided in shifts on a daily basis in which 250 employees work in the morning shifts and and the remaining 250 are divided into evening and night shifts.

Therefore the best possible time for the upgradation of Computers without any loss of work would be in the evening and night shifts.

5 PCs per evening and night shifts would be used for the upgradation and the technical staff required would be 5 per shift as well.

1 week = 70 PCs

2 weeks = 140 PCs

3 weeks = 210 PCs

4th week = 250 PCs along with testing of all the PCs

Hardware Installation

The timeframe for the installation of hardware is divided over a period of one month. Most of the time would be consumed by proper installation and networking of the upgradation. Once the hardware changes are being done, then the software installation would be held. As a total of 250 computers are to be installed therefore the hardware installation would take most of the time.

Software Installation

Based on the software upgradation process, the time period is almost 15 days to install all the necessary software for the staff members. Remaining 15 days would then be consumed by the training procedures for the software that are new to the staff members. This includes the training of Microsoft office, windows 7 and Mozilla Firefox

The reason of installing Microsoft windows 7 is that the operating system has many new features that are not ...
