The Leaders anticipated in a number of events on the battlefield so as to make their units act as well as respond more rapidly than that of the enemies. At the first blown bridge, the column halted immediately. Every vehicle, tank and even the trucks deviated crossways in a swampy spot that was through sidestep. Some of the trucks needed help as they caught up and could not do much without a proper support; it was due to this act that a lot of the time was lost. Since t here was a delay in covering the river, this allowed the Chinese enemy to react more quickly. Allowing them to close in on the border and even at the rear of the column and get prepared for war.

Once the warriors past the first destroyed bridge, the convoy was yet again stopped by yet one more road block situated at the hairpin turn on Hill east side. It was the firm belief that helped in breaking the block, along with the other officers and small groups the company recruited attacked all together on Hill 1221.
