WHAT BAPTIST BELIEVES

Introduction

If we study the beliefs of various groups of Christians, We come to know that certain beliefs of most groups are different from other groups. Many beliefs of Baptist churches are not consistent with one another. Baptists do not have any governing authority, therefore they practice divergent beliefs. People who studied this group use a term Baptist Distinctive for the core beliefs. Baptist is a person or a group who follows all these beliefs or most of these beliefs. In this paper, we will discuss the main Baptist's beliefs and discuss this briefly.

The Bible: Faith and Practice

Baptists strictly believe that, whatever written in Bible is very much clear for a person to understand. God has clearly mentioned and explained all His orders in the Holy book. Thus, the literal teachings of the book are the final authority for faith and practice. It means that, every way of living the life needs to be subject to the written words of GOD and Bible is the only source to follow.

Triune God

Trinity refers to the idea that though God is one, yet God has three distinct appearances or roles. One who created heavens and earth, second Christ and third, the Holy Spirit. Bible clearly mentions that, God is one. However, people get confused, over the point that Christ is God and, the Holy Spirit is also the God (Mathew T.J., 2006). The theory that God is the Father God is the Son and God is also the Holy Spirit is the basic concept of the trinity. It explains the idea of existence of One God, existing as three distinct Persons. Bible does not explain that how it is possible, but since it is clear that God is one, but in three states, so the people must believe in the idea, as it seems to be something above man's understanding.

The Cross-Work of the Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ sacrificed his life in the most vexatious manner on the Cross for the sake of mankind. He wanted to save us from sins as he loves as more than anyone can.

Atonement, Reconciliation, Redemption

Atonement refers to the concept that by sacrificing the life, Christ had suffered the penalty for sins of men, hence removing the effects of sin from the repentant sinner. By doing so, Christ allowed the person to be reconciled to God. His Atonement ...
