Introduction

The raw, gritty method of The Battle of Algiers makes the movie seem akin to a documentary, with a phantom crew, other than a movie. Shaky camera methods make the assembly seem as if the activity is natural and believable. Everything from the grainy movie to the cinematography made me become more engaged with the individual characteristics and happenings happening in Algiers. Though numerous of the actors were not professionals by any benchmark, it only supplemented to its assuring nature. I was very shocked that the filmmakers chose to present the movie in a very unbiased viewpoint contemplating Algeria had requested the film. Either edge could have effortlessly been demonized for its activities, but general I was left with the effect that no one is inevitably bad, right, or wrong.
