Introduction

In her stand-alone novel The Girlfriend Curse, Frankel tells the story of Peg Silver, whose boyfriends inevitably end up marrying someone else. Peg decides to leave New York for White River Junction, Vermont. On the train ride there, however, she meets Ray Quick and ends up joining him at a retreat focusing on helping people get rid of neurotic dating habits. Valerie Frankel is the author of humorous self-help books, novels, and the "Wanda Mallory" and "Fringe Girl" series. Frankel actually began her writing career as a fact-checker at New York Woman. She later left that post for a position at Mademoiselle where, among other endeavors, she wrote a column about sex. The experience helped prepare Frankel for writing her collection of entertaining self-help titles.

Wanda investigates the shooting death of a guest on a dating game show in Prime Time for Murder, and becomes a member at a posh health club in order to investigate a series of crimes in A Body to Die For. The moment Peg Silver was asked for a drink by her boyfriend, she started to believe that she will be having wild sex with him, but she was not expecting him to offer Peg his gratitude for finding her a girls he is been looking for to get married. However, Peg's boyfriend thanked her for becoming the bridge to find him the love he was looking for. The situation goes bad, because this is not the first time she was being dumped by a guy. She, calculated moments from her past and find out that the fact that, whoever she dated with will end up marrying another girl next to Peg. Peg than realize or perhaps, constituted a perception that she is cursed to be the last or ultimate girlfriend, and that every man after dating her, find his true love or dream princess.
