Background of the Study

To explain various activities and the outcomes of those activities that are created by humans are known as Art. These activities are commonly described as film, architecture, painting, photography, sculpture, and several other forms of visual arts, which on a broader perspective include theatre, acting, dance and music. Till the 17th century, art was refer as any mastery or skill but was not separated from the study of sciences or crafts, however, in today's time the term art is distinctive and use to describe specific skills and abilities. It is also known as “Fine Arts”.

Keeping in view the above explanation the purpose of taking this comparative research of two different art works is the study in depth the making of the art-piece, its design and structure and do a comparative analysis on its impact and presence in the history of human kind. Both the art forms are from completely different eras and depict a different lifestyle that was the norm of the period they were commissioned and created.

Purpose of the Study

The purpose of the study is to analyse and compare the two distinct art forms. In different periods, there have been different styles followed by the artist of the time. Our objective behind the study is to evaluate both the artworks in their own paradigm and study the points of comparison between the two in terms of their portrayal of the image, art work done by the artist and the impact it has on the viewer and how it's been perceived by the artist community.

Problem Statement

The problem statement with respect to the comparative study is that both the artworks are not only from a different era but are also completely opposite in the art form. They also explain very different stories, were commissioned for different purposes and left very distinct perception on the people. Relating two completely different art forms and analyzing them is the major concern.

Rationale of the Study

The rationale, why the study should be conducted is the basics of this research paper. In different times, there have been different art practices taken by the artists. The reasons behind comparing such different art forms are to analyze and evaluate what makes them unique and how the two can be compare with each other, the difference and similarities. Such a study is important to understand how completely different art works can be compare and analyze and their presence in the history.
