Employees add a layer of complexity to your business, so it is essential to consider carefully the recruitment of each employee. Hiring the right people, training them well, and keeping them happy and motivated are really the interesting but difficult tasks.  It also needs the consideration of legal requirements.

Plan the hiring 

Process of hiring employees is expensive, so it must be taken seriously. Make sure your hiring decision is in accordance with the objectives you set in the business plan. Write a job description to indicate exactly what you want for each employee. Interview several candidates and select the one that has the best qualification. Most employers believe that a good attitude on the part of the candidate is what makes them decide to hire that person. It's a good idea to impose a probationary period of 30 to 90 days prior to hire someone permanently. Wrong employee can cause great harm to the business (Weightman, 2008, 90). 

Train the employees properly 

Training is expensive but necessary. As you need well-qualified employees who perform the tasks in the way you need. It is important to design a guide that explains the company policy and establish the duties, responsibilities and ethical criteria. Another good idea is to send employees for special training. Small business owners should try to train their employees not just once but several times for the tasks required by their business. 

Working with employees 

It is necessary that employees are happy, motivated and involved in the business. One should keep all lines of communication open. They must allow their employees to participate in the objectives of their business and let them know the opinions on their performances. 

Legal Requirements 

Consult the attorney and the accountant to ensure that you meet all the documents and the legal requirements for hiring employees. You must keep records on all matters relating to the employees. There are several laws regarding working conditions, minimum wage and safety considerations. They should be followed properly. The requirements of the law are stated below:
