Introduction

Many arguments were presented by Laurie Schutza in her English composition course; she gave an argument related to personal problem along with many good academic arguments. Augments related to personal problem worked silently her life as well. Yet she had doubts if it was academic argument of public context or appropriate, but since initial thoughts created by her and others researchers related to the topic made people realize the importance of the topic. Arguments presented by her tries to pull this silence into day light (John, 253). In this paper, we summarize Laurie Schutza's essay “The Pack Rat Among Us” by identifying its purpose and audience for Schutza's essay and finally we are going to identify support strategies used by Schutza's to support her claim. Summary

The Pack Rat Among Us the author says that we are surrounded by pack rats, packrats have the fear of parting of disposing their things; according to the author it has become a major health concern by on the other hand se oppose this view by supporting them. In her essay she says that everyone has different views on packrats some have positive views about them and some negative but she has covered mostly positive views of packrats. In her essay The Pack Rat Among Us she has presented her argument by telling a story about a house situated in relatively afflenuent neighborhood, the house belonged to her love ones. She said that, house looked normal because it was a well maintained house from outside but when she walked up driveway, its view was shocking as she saw a mountain of old newspapers. As she walked inside the house she figured out that this house's residents were obsessive hoarders.
