The Problem of Evil: Modern vs. Traditional Paper

Introduction

The aim of this essay is to discuss the traditional and modern perspectives on the Problem of Evil. A few years ago, the immediate post-war philosophy has shown that it could find another way to circumvent the problem of evil. One of the issues that have always been present in the Church is the problem of evil in the world, understood as the sin that leads to feelings of guilt and confusion. Understanding evil and human errors are not a definitive statement on people, nor prevent the spiritual ascent, or moral development stagnates. By contrast, the man has sensitivity efficient to recognize their sins and imperfections. But most important is that it is able to understand where should behave and who to turn to for guidance (Walker, 2007).

The problem of evil is studied in philosophy of religion as the problem to consider the compatibility between the presence of evil and suffering in the world with the existence of God omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. The idea of the existence of evil in the world is old. The Church and Western churches are finally confronted with new problems of a world and shift the focus from God to man with the lights and the reign of reason in the eighteenth century. From this period a new center of Christianity emerged in Moscow. In the seventeenth century, we are in a period where the great debates of philosophical and theological ideas go hand in hand with an intense charitable activity and probably a true Christian life and deep Christian people (Bednarowski, 2008).

Many Christians are not able to view the link between liberation and faith, revealing the fact that they have domesticated the gospel that began as “good news” to the poor. Therefore, many people abandon the church because they do not found any need of commitment to the Christianity and indeed often commit themselves to the church as a society in opposition (Shepherd, 2001).

Discussion and Analysis

The church is basically a place where Christians worship God and meet other members of the community. It brings together the members to spiritual maturity and spreads out love of God and His message (Hinds, 2004). Church is a type of religious organization that brings together the followers of a religion, as a rule, the Christian flow through common doctrinal and spiritual systems. From the inside, however, the existence of the Church of Christ as a nominal principle which is clearly universal, so a Christian requires faith in it. This directly speaks of faith: "I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church”.
