California State Assembly District

The california state assembly district is the state of the california legislature's lower house. The total members in the assembly are 80. All of these members represent constituencies of an equal amount. The state of california has relatively large population and small legislature, due to which, the assembly represents as the largest in terms of representation of assembly in the United States with the most number of population. There are a few members in the assembly. One of the reason of which is the 1990 referendum. There is even limitation for existing members, as they have a limitation of six years (Finkel & Geer, 1998).

Luis Marquez has recently announced his intention to stand again for the state assemblyman. According to him, there is an opportunity for him to represent the assembly once again. The reasons he has provided includes enormous support from his people. In his opinion about the california assembly district, the sate has fewer representatives but, is one of the most efficient assemblies of the United States. Clearly, state governments matter a great deal in American politics. The impact of structural elements outlined is enhanced by the constitutional allocation of power between the state and federal governments. Articles I, II, and III of the Constitution allocate certain powers to the national level of government. Many powers and many areas of authority are not mentioned in the provisions and have been, over the course of 220 years of constitutional history, contested terrain between state power and national power. The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, often called the states-rights amendment, asserts that all powers not granted to the national government or denied “are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people” This reserved- powers clause has been used by state governments with considerable success to fend off national incursion into state sovereignty (Finkel , 1993).

Opinion regarding the re-election or voting out of the current Assemblyman

The current assemblyman is a registered voter from the time of issuance of nomination papers and have served the state assembly for more than three years since 1990. The assemblyman fulfills all the requirements in accordance to Section 2(c) of Article IV therefore, the candidate does not have any issues and there is no need for the voting out of the current assemblyman.
