The study of thermodynamics is the study of systems that are too large to understand by mechanics alone. For numerous years, thermodynamics was understood vaguely, and numerous of the results had been very resolute only experimentally. Some results posed large theoretical challenges to physicists, who suggested numerous unsuccessful attempts at interpreting the origins of the formulas.(Goldstein,1999)
