Time Warner Cable is a foremost media and entertainment company, whose enterprises comprise of interactive services, recorded on film entertainment, cable schemes, recorded on film entertainment, TV systems and publishing (Flower, 2004). It is the second-largest cable operator in the U.S., with technologically sophisticated, well-clustered schemes established mostly in 5 geographic localities — New York State (including New York City), the Carolinas, Ohio, south California (including Los Angeles) and Texas. As of December 31, 2008, Time Warner Cable amused almost 15 million customers who subscribed to one or more of its video, high-speed facts and numbers and voice services, comprising more than 34 million revenue generating units.

Time Warner Cable (formerly Warner Cable Communications) is an American nationwide cable TV company that functions in 27 states and has 31 functioning divisions. Its company headquarters are established in New York, NY. For its first 20 years, Time Warner Cable was organised by Time Warner. But, it is no longer affiliated with Time Warner, having been rotated out to shareholders in March 2009.

 

Prior to the spin-out, Time Warner had held an 84% stake in Time Warner Cable. Non-Time Warner shareholders obtained 0.083670 portions for each share currently owned. This move made Time Warner Cable the biggest cable operator in the United States belongs to solely by a lone class of shareholders. Time Warner Cable was formed in 1989 through the amalgamation of Time Inc.'s cable TV company, American Television and Communications Corp., and Warner Cable, a partition of Warner Communications. It furthermore encompasses the remnants of the obsolete QUBE interactive television service. In 1995, the company commenced the Southern Tier On-Line Community, a cable modem service now renowned as Road Runner High Speed Online. TWC principally boasts three services — video, high-speed facts and numbers and voice — over its broadband cable systems. TWC markets its services individually and in “bundled” packages of multiple services and features. Historically, TWC has concentrated mainly on residential customers, while furthermore trading video, high-speed facts and numbers and financial networking and transport services to financial customers. Recently, TWC has started trading voice services to small- and medium-sized enterprises as part of an expanded focus on its financial business (Flower, 2004).
