The first movie of this type appeared in 1912, soon after the disaster, which was a ten minutes newsreel that circulated in movie theaters. Much of the footage of the newsreel were taken from the Titanic's sister ship Olympic. In 1912, three movies based on the disaster appeared to satisfy the hunger audiences for any kind of footage related to Titanic (Monaco 2001).

James Cameron's Titanic definitely fit the genre, as it was one of a kind movie in the history of titanic movies. There may be one thing to raise it if there was something to be learned about the life of that time, i.e. 1912 that how the ship sank, and how it was built. The movie has provided an entire experience of the passengers that were on board in 1912 to the audiences (Arijon 1999).

Yes, there is more than one specific genre that is represented in the movie such as love and passion in the two characters with the reality of the disaster has made the movie unforgettable for the audiences.

There are several examples that highlight the elements of the genre such as Rose Calvert (Gloria Stuart); one of the main characters of the movie was forced to marry a man she did not love. Of course, the central aspect is the love story between two main characters but the story is not original, it has been re-invented according to the need of the time and its characters.

The central characters of the movie are Rose Calvert (Gloria Stuart) and Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) (rusearching.com).

The characters represented love for themselves, and they were passionately attracted towards each other. However, as Jack was a poor fellow, and he was not wealthy like Rose and her family; therefore, he was not accepted by Rose's family.

Their actions created a story with some meaning in the sense that the whole idea of the sinking of Titanic was based on the scene when they were together.

The kind of life that the film wishes us to value is there is no tomorrow. All we have is today, and we must take proper advantage of today to achieve the best for eternal life.
