Leisure time could be stated as a person's time free from work demands, and it is the time when a person could enjoy his or her hobbies or he or she could rest (Pearsonschool, n.d., p. 12). In 1960, Nash had proposed the use of leisure for specific human activities that could be classified into four levels including creative involvement, active, emotion and passive. He proposed a leisure model that was illustrating the use of leisure time leisure activities' progression, and it was similar to the hierarchical needs proposed by Maslow (Torkildsen, 2005, p. 48).

For him, leisure time of a person could be regarded as a positive period in which one could opt to do whatever he or she wanted to do (Torkildsen, 2005, p. 47). The term leisure had been used by theorists as a series of experiences that could be undertaken by people in their free time.
