Introduction

Toxicology is a branch of science that relates to the study of poisons. Any matter that can cause harmful and damaging effect either accidently or purposely to any living organism is known as Poison. In the study of toxicology, it consists of the study of all those harmful effects that are caused through type of physical phenomenon. This includes various types of noises as well as radiation and rays. Through the study of toxicology, it is beneficial for the society and serves it in many different ways. It not only helps in protecting human beings but also helps the environment and atmosphere from the poisonous and harmful effects of toxicants so as to assist the progression of more discerning toxicants including anti-cancer and various medical pesticides and drugs (Schrager, pp: 16-23).

According to various authors the definition of toxicant or poison also includes the concept of quantitative biology since a compound poison of one genetic strain or species can be comparatively harmless to the other. It is complex to measure toxicology, as it can be acute as well as chronic. It can also from vary according to the age, genetics, health, physical conditions, diet as well as from one single variable to another. One of the most important and significant factor in toxicology is genes. Not only this, the simplest form of measuring toxicology depends to a large extent on controlling of the variables mentioned above. There can be various reasons through which human beings can get exposed to toxic substances or poisons. There are several activities such as occupational exposure, intentional poisoning that includes suicidal attempts.
