This case study, under scrutiny takes into the endeavors of Unilever over a period of six years, propelling towards a self assessment journey, with the intention of becoming world class, in the approaching millennium. This journey for them began in the year 1996, and stretched over the period of six years. With the HPCE group finding its foundation in the year 1996, it now comprises of over 10,000 employees. The aspect of self assessment was made an imperative, as well as an integral part of HPCE, for the increased astuteness of the management framework.
