Introduction

As the CEO of the American Widget Company, I assume that the unionization of the company will benefit everyone. It will ensure better productivity and efficiency along with the giving proper facilities to the employees. In this competitive business environment, it is necessary for a company to facilitate their employees in every way they can, so that in turn, the employees will work harder to achieve the goals set for them. For this, a union would be an effective way to identify the problems and issues of the employees. They can give suggestions and opinions regarding their projects which can bring improvement in the entire system and the productivity of the company.

Unionization of Company

The unionization process of an organization is under the National Labor Relations Act, 29 USC § 151-169 (2000) (NLRA). Particularly, it explains the basis and primary signals of the activity of unionizing, as well as the rules and process for employees and employers when a union request recognition (Greg, 2005).

There are several reasons for the unionization of the organization. Some of them are listed below:

Dissatisfaction with existing benefits and wages.

Apprehension with management's behavior, mainly first line supervisors.

An opinion that the administrator is playing favorites.

An opinion that administrator are not listening to them.

An opinion that they do not have any power in the organization.
