Introduction

This paper takes in to account three renowned and authentic articles, which discuss the mainstream issues of the intake of oral morphine. In this endeavor, the three articles are critically reviewed. Management and relieving cancer pain is the one of most challenging task. To assess this challenging issue, these articles are reviewed. Oral morphine and respiratory function amongst hospice inpatients with advanced cancer

The purpose of this study was to examine the function of respiratory of patients who were suffering from advanced level of cancer and in addition, were receiving 100mg of oral morphine daily. This research has been proven to be useful in enlightening the healthcare of hospice inpatients with advance cancer, suffering from respiratory diseases and taking the regular dosage of oral morphine. Thus, the target population for this study was the pain-free hospice in patients suffering from cancer, who were evaluated. Further, arterial blood gas (ABG), Respiratory rate (RR) and peak flow rate (PFR) was also assessed at steady state of morphine (Walsh, Rivera and Kaiko, 2003).

However, the sample size of the research was 31 patients, who were examined for this research. Out of those, 20 patients managed to complete the assessment, while the 12 patients were suffering from chronic bronchitis. The average dose of morphine given to the patients was around 30 mg, given every 4 hours.

From the research conducted, it can be concluded that Morphine usually does not trigger the chronic ventilator impairment if given in regular intervals, even if those cancer patients were also suffering from respiratory diseases. Thus, ...
