The article Why Bother has been written by Micheal Pollan. The main purpose of this article is to let the reader understand the linkage of climatic change and global warming. Every year the climate is changing and going on the way to extremism. The winters are getting colder and colder and the summers are becoming hotter and hotter. It is very important for the reader to understand the major difference between climatic change and global change. I agree with Pollan that the climate change and global warming are two different contexts.

The key question that Pollan is addressing is in the article is whether climatic change is related to global warming or not. For this he has given many examples in this context and creating awareness in the reader. I think the global change and the climatic change are both related and it is the duty of human to take care of the environment.

“Climate change is upon us, and it has arrived well ahead of schedule.” (pollan 2008)

The most important information in this article is that the climatic change is directly related to global warming and the climate is getting extreme to human fault. If human take a little more care about the thing they use then the weather will not be affected much. I think its high time human correct their strategy or they will be at loss.

The main inferences/conclusions in this article are humans must take care and should not appreciated to use artificial means specially the Chloro Fluro Carbons which destroy the ozone layer and help in climate change. Here I agree with the Pollan because one can observe from the surroundings that the artificial chemicals are destroying the natural environment.

The key concept(s) we need to understand in this article is the context of global warming and its affect on human life. The Pollan is pointing towards humans problems due to climatic change. I agree that every year humans are facing lot of problem due to climatic change. The crops are being destroyed due to global warming. By these concepts, Pollan means to restrict the further worsening of the climate the humans must take care of artificial things and should switch to green life.
