WORKLOAD WORRIES

Introduction

The amount of work scheduled or expected from the employee in a certain period of time is workload. Work performed for nurses is essential for the well-being of patients and clients accessing the health system (Nancy, 2004). Registered nurses have the greatest hour assistance and coordination of assistance to other physicians. They are the primary interface between patient and health care systems. It is therefore very important that the work performed by nurses understand. This requires the development of tools for determining the specific contribution of nurses to treatment outcomes for patients, as well as resources to affect this result.

At this time most of the automated registration of health does not include activities which are nurses, or the results of the intervention (Learthart, 2000). 2 only currently the provincial 3is databases actual hours provided care, including the combination of skills and employment of nursing and nursing workload. The data provided in provincial databases limit, this is even more important to ensure that accurate data is captured locally for description of work performed by nurses and nursing workloads and results of treatment of patients with a sound methodology (Lowden, 1998).

To date, workload measurement systems (WLMS) are the only mechanism that nursing intervention took over the work of the elderly. The purpose of this work is to highlight some of the key issues in nursing, management workload measurement data, as well as implications for nursing and patient care. Emphasis on nurses to provide direct assistance in the hospital sector, rather than those in countries with developed the role of practice or other sectors (Nancy, 2004).

Nursing and workload

In the 1980s, the appearance of medical groups mix event, as the basis for calculation of a both Canadian and American Hospital nurse warned about the need to mock the nursing component costs. Because of new methodologies for integrating nursing work results are just beginning to appear in the 1990s, many were illustrated by our care and/or historical failure actions nursing jobs in terms of their costs and results. Cost-cutting strategies to put enormous pressure on nurse administrators define and streamline costs associated with patient care (Bloodworth, 2001). Without an adequate basis for design hour's care, nurse managers are in poor condition and articulate and defend their requirements for nurses.

In Canada, the United States, the maintenance of the calculation includes the determination of total worked hours and costs per day per unit. The costs of many objects are allocated to specific patients based on their potential or retrospective load assessment of classification. Resources consumed per unit objectives are patients on the basis, taking into account the evaluation of care is derived from load measurement/patient classification system. Workload measurement systems used as the basis for determining proxy nursing expenses pushing these systems beyond the purposes for which they were created. However, these systems continue to be used in calculating the exercises because information must surpass our current and readily available technology.

Historically, only measures of care in entities were traditional workload measurement ...
