Abstract

According to the researchers and professionals that have been working in the field of psychology, the extent to which incarcerated youth is overrepresented in institutions of juvenile corrections as youth offenders; these are the individuals which are going through the hardest stage of their mental and behavioral conditions or suffering from some disorders and ailments which need ultimate considerations. As an exemplary research, this study aims at identifying social and statistical significance of poverty, mental health issues and race for youth offenders. More and more organizations are becoming aware of such needs and additional confirmations for the cause of betterment and improvisations. The early indication of such issues and problems can be the leading technique to use for the provision of young offenders and their facilitations and consequences on other individuals that are socially present around the environment, living a propagating a healthy lifestyle. This will also implicate on the juvenile system of the programming and changes that need to be done in the system and conditions accordingly so the professionals will impact their strategies accordingly in terms of controlling and coordinating different mediations of psychological therapies as well as control the extent of violation of rules and contradictions that these people go through during their lifetime. Their characteristics are identified in the social, behavioral and judgmental manners possible to enhance and improvise on the knowledge terms of different individuals. This will also give a clear indication as to how strategies must be derived out to secure different parameters for individuals like those.

Social and statistical significance of poverty, mental health issues, and race for youth offenders

Introduction

According to the development of local and recent research, there have been identifications pointing out to the fact that out of 6 children, there is 1 young one who will be at risk of potentially going through the bad outcomes of the psychological ailments and problems which are a part of a normal society. They are more prone to getting mental health problems and disorders such as violent and abusive nature from the very starting and it should be identified ahead of time of what consequences and leading problems it is going to cost the person. Surveys that are carried out to study and research about the young offenders suggest that as many as 60% of the young individuals that are incarcerated in the juvenile systems of the regions are prone to mental health disorders or some social issues such as poverty or race discriminations that are rarely looked over and determined (Schwartz, 2009).
