Executive Summary

With the expansion of Zilack Corporation it is necessary that all Zilack's Functional Areas review the present business model, our goal is to integrate IT system into the business model. With this expansion, new employees will need to be hired for the 100% projected growth. Merging all functional areas with IT systems will be most effective with an understanding of how vital the IT department contribution is towards determining the success of Zilack's Corporation. Before discussing issues affecting the Information Security and Assurance Department, we need to understand the obligation of this department. Information Security is defined as protecting any unauthorized source from obtaining confidential data. It would be unreasonable to believe that any software or hardware will be 100% risk free, due to the rapid changes in technology. The Assurance department will assure the protection of at least 98% of information being transmitted through external and internal components. Communication is the main integrating ingredient of business (Namita, 2009). Development and success of a business depends on how open and simple the communication channels in the business are (Namita, 2009). With that being clearly stated, Zilack Corporation board members will follow the company mission, goals, and Code of Ethics when determining the Structure.

The Information Security and Assurance Department will evaluate all employees working in the department, for proper credentials. Unfortunately, we cannot have any personnel without accredited credentials, working in this high security environment. With the calling of the International market, a demand for multi-lingual qualified personnel is essential. Training of all stakeholders will be the first step into integrating IT with other Functional Areas. Continuous training in HIPPA laws and OSHA regulations, training in the latest security systems, and implementing procedures to protect the company are essential. During this period, the personnel will be classified according to job description. Classification is necessary to determine who will have access to classified documentation, access to the IT department along with other information that Zilack Corporation deems important. The Human Resources Department will play an active role in the recruitment of staff, rescheduling of training, seminars, and maintaining corporate personnel records. To make this transition swiftly the budget will need to allow for the hiring of a small consultant firm. With the transformation of Zilack Corporation, it is necessary to include a Compliance Officer within the Human Resources area. The budget allots for two qualified personnel; 150 staff per officer. They will also be responsible for keeping the corporation aware of all new regulations, which are changing quickly to keep up with new threats in breach of security; like invasion of privacy.
