A Dry Gas, A Wet Gas And Condensate Gas

Introduction

Natural gas reaching the end user is significantly different from the composition of gas produced. Most of the gas supply is called methane gas, but the raw gas is pumped into the pipe must be separated from other hydrocarbon fractions and purified from contaminants. Some hydrocarbons such as ethane, propane, butane, are very valuable as independent products, but can not be pumped pipelines because of the tendency to condense. The raw natural gas are also water vapor, helium, sulfur and hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, residual oil (especially the gas accompanying oil production).

Natural gas is classified as dry wet. Wet gas has a concentration most volatile products (propane, butane, and heavier) in recoverable form of gasoline, kerosene and LPG. The processes that are extracted from natural gas liquefiable hydrocarbons are made in absorption and cryogenic plants, obtaining a dry gas is used as fuel for the industry (Robinson, 1986).

Discussion and Analysis

The natural gas condensate is a mixture of low-density liquid hydrocarbons. These are present in gaseous form in the gas stream leaving the production well at the site, but then, under certain pressure and temperature conditions existing production facilities, condense, causing a liquid stream. The gas condensate is called condensate, gas condensate or sometimes natural gasoline because it contains hydrocarbons with boiling points similar to those of gasoline.

Natural gas is presented as a mixture of hydrocarbons lightest, so it requires knowledge of obtaining all properties. The composition of a gas mixture, is expressed as common mind: by weight percentage, by volume percentage and percentage molar or molar fraction. Wet gas is one that contains a higher percentage and can produce a liquid phase by temperature variations and prescience (Hinchman et.al, 1985).

Natural gas is sent in the dry areas of mining% to the municipal or industrial gas pipelines. Before transporting the gas pipeline is removed by washing with water vapor, ethylene glycol and if necessary gas is administered, for example with a solution of mono-ethanolamine NH2CH2CH2OH.

Dry gas is primarily a source of methane. The most important primary products of its processing are, hydrogen, synthesis gas containing CO and H2 (chlorination of methane, carbon black and acetylene). Expensive large consumption of electricity in the method of preparation of acetylene from calcium carbide was the incentive ...
