A Life-Changing Moment

All of us have had a moment that has changed our life. My life changing moment was the birth of younger brother, John. My entire life transformed with his birth, though at times change can be positive, yet when it is unexpected.

At first, when my parents informed me that they were having another baby and I would have a little brother, and I would become an elder brother this time. I was awash with emotions; happy, excited and sad and distressing at the same time. My entire life was heading for a change and I was not sure if I was prepared for that. At that time, I didn't even know that this event would have an amazingly positive impact on my life. When little John was born, I could not hide my happiness and smile. In the swing, there was this tiny little “thing” my parents called my brother. The moment I picked up little John in my hands, I felt the weight of his existence and his upcoming life on my shoulders. Right away I felt that he was my responsibility, and I was all geared up to do anything for my younger brother, John.

My entire family was taking care of him, this is unbelievable but even our cat was also looking after him, and life was fairly calm all through the initial few weeks. Whenever my mom used to go out during the first few months, I loved to feed him a bottle, and even though he used to spew out most of it, it was extremely satisfying and gleeful for me as for John.
