Introduction

The concept of leadership is mainly associated with the people. The phenomenon of leadership consists of actions and decisions which are linked with the nature and variety of other things. However, the truth lies in the fact that leadership is particularly compared to any other character due to its distinctive responsibility for people, which are the leader's followers, irrespective of the context in which the role of leadership is seen to be in function. There are a lot of capabilities that matters a lot in an individual's life for the skills acquisition and information and then implementing in most reliable way. Leadership is considered as quite different way. Fair and good leadership asks for behavioral factors and emotional strengths that have power of influence on the followers. This assignment is based on the comparison of two leadership roles of two coaches.

Leadership Perspectives in Both Coaches

Coach Knight: Leadership

Coach Knight was a basketball player in the Ohio state and served as basketball mentor. He has an old fashioned disciplinarian style of doing things. He was quite determined of what he has to do while coaching and what outcomes he wants his team to achieve. At some point in time, he became very demanding through pushing his team players to the limits of their physical and mental abilities (Snook, Perlow & DeLacey, 2005a). He wants everything to be perfect in all aspects and very obsessive in winning every match. While dealing with the team players he did not take them as individuals rather think them like chess figures. From the overall analysis of his leadership perspective, it can be said that his whole style of leading was as he wants to win his own battle through the help of his team players. His main motivators for the encouragement of teams are Values and Punishment.

Coach K: Leadership

Coach K. was also one of the most well known basketball players. He was a great achiever of Basketball Hall of Fame 2001. From the analysis of the case study, one point is quite obvious that coach K. believes on positive reinforcement in which he tend to have open and close communication patterns (Snook, Perlow & DeLacey, 2005b).
