Introduction

Chronicle of a Death Foretold is an exceptional novel which was written by a phenomenal writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez in 1981. Chronicle of a Death Foretold indicts a story based on historical facts and realistic themes. The novel is based on an actual event that occurred in 1951 in linking a crime incident and a series of characters that were influenced by the circumstances generated by the incident. Chronicle of a Death Foretold touches on a wide range of those essential aspects and ideas of the human experience that we commonly label as literary themes. A third topic that would make for a good essay on theme is fate. Given the case of Santiago Nasar, is the text arguing that human fate is predestined?
