Introduction

This essay is based the analysis of Cathedral by Raymond Carver. First published in 1981 in the Atlantic Monthly, "Cathedral" became the title story of Raymond Carver's sixth collection of short fiction, which was published in 1983. Raymond Carver (1939-1988) is one of the most prominent American short story writers of the 1980s.
