An Interview Essay

Introduction

Interviews are the best way to get an understanding of a person's feelings, behaviors and perceptions. It helps to get an insight of an interviewee's problem about which he/she is sensitive enough to not to discuss it among many people. Interviews allow detailed questions to be asked by such people and that is why it gain high response rate. Interviews allow people to tell their stories in their own words which clarify the ambiguities and doubts. In order to gain the in-depth knowledge of my class fellow, a Saudi Arabian, I conducted a short interview with him and gained understanding of his life which I could not get another way around.

Discussion

My friend Omar belongs to Saudi Arabia which is a Muslim country. He was living there in a joint family system with his brothers and parents. Like any other Eastern society his family also used to live together in order to promote their bonding with each other while celebrating each and every happiness and occasions together. My friend enjoyed being living in his own country. But chances of high standard education were not enough to fulfill his aims and objectives. That is why Omar decided to continue his higher education in an American institute. He had always been an excellent student in his academic career that is why he did not face any hindrance in getting admission at this university.

His decision was solely based upon getting better education and also improving his English language which seemed quite difficult in Saudi Arabia. For Omar, better education along with Standard English is necessary to lead a successful and prosperous life ahead. Owing to this fact he moved to America.
