Analysis Introduction

This novel is one of the Mary Shelley's famous novels of 19th century it is considered as a thriller. A series of ethical questions is raised by Frankenstein Shelley through the practices of the novel's character, Victor Frankenstein. Many areas of ethical significance are addressed in this novel, and among the two most notable issues involve the significance of creative responsibility in the relationship between parent and child and the issues of world of modern science. By focusing the life style of Victor Frankenstein, Mary Shelley and his creature, and modern society, a strong correlation can easily be perceived that exist between the fundamental ethical questions raised by Shelley with problems now that can be observed in today's world. It is a fact that with her work, Shelley warns her readers that ethical responsibilities are ignored, horrific consequences are produced (Calverley, 2001).

Can Science Go Too So Far?

At first the ethics of parental responsibility are reflected that are observed in the relation between life of Shelley and her novel, it is seen by the audience that how Shelley displays her position with the help Victor Frankenstein's character, as she is warning the society to stop their moral crime. She emphasizes on the importance of parental affection and influence and mentions it as an important element in children up bring and for providing them a happy and satisfied future. The main dilemma of this novel is the loss of her mother at the time of her birth. She is raised by her father. Her father does not treat her well. This is the reason Shelley wants to convey the message of the responsibility of parents and family. Since then her relationship with her father never gets healed resulting in influencing her perception on this matter of ethics.

By understanding this reader can observe the importance of parental responsibility and love that is conveyed through this novel (Allen, 2008,pp.233-248).

Shelley delivers all her views on the significance of parental love and she also describes the negative effects that emerge as a result of negligence of parents. Shelley wants her readers to make them aware of the involvement of the moral evil that is due t the parental neglect.
