Question No. 1: length of life (in hours) of 100 watt bulbs

Frequency Distribution

In statistics, there is a relationship with numbers, numbers, grouped or not, which have similar characteristics together. There are research related to product prices of the daily diet, height and weight of a group of individuals, employee salaries, degrees of temperature environment, student grades, etc.., Which can acquire different values ??by an appropriate unit, which receives the variable name. The numerical representation of the variables is called statistic. The frequency distribution is a tabular statistical data sorted ascending or descending, with the frequency (fi) of each data. Frequency distributions can be for ungrouped data and grouped data or class intervals (Downing, 2003. pp. 47).

It indicates that the frequency distribution that displays statistics from the least of them unto the greatest of that set without having made any changes to the size of the original units. In these distributions each data maintains its own identity after the frequency distribution has been developed. In these distributions the values ??of each variable has only been regrouped in a logical order with their respective frequencies.

The above table shows the frequency distribution for the given data set. As my registration ID is 1132792, therefore the value of X is 3. The X is replaced by 3 in the data set to obtained proper executable data. The total 48 observations are grouped into the classes. The life of 100-watt light bulbs is divided into 7 intervals, and counts the number of results in each interval. In this case, the intervals are the length of life (in hours) of a sample of forty eight 100-watt light bulbs produced by a manufacturer.

Descriptive statistics plays a vital role in almost all facets of human progress. Descriptive statistics is the tabulation of data presentation in graphical or illustrative calculation. The statistical techniques are applied widely in marketing, accounting, consumer surveys, sports, education, politics and medicines due to the need of decision-making.

Frequency Histogram

A frequency histogram is a graph that is formed on each lifting boxes one of the real limits of each interval, with a height equal to the frequency ab- soluta of each class. The histogram is used to represent data corresponding to the values ??of the vari- continuous quantitative variable (Trochim, 2006, pp. 13). To indicate the continuity of the variable are not left spaces between the bars.

The above histogram shows that maximum numbers of the frequency is 16, which was observed in the fifth interval i.e. 893 - 960, the second highest frequencies is 14 and comes in the 4th interval, which is 824-892. However, the lowest frequencies were found in the 1st and 2nd interval, histograms are commonly used as their standard format makes them easy to understand and encourage communication between users, unfamiliar same statistical methods. The curve is not perfectly bell-shaped, which shows that the data is not normally ...
