Anarchism

Introduction

Anarchism (Paul, pp.98-109) has a very long and a discontinuous history, since the beginning anarchist tradition it has been one of the most distinctive feature, involved in the political thoughts of the West. However, there are few examples of anarchism existing outside the West, most of them involve the early Taoists, and it even includes a handful of medieval Islamic theorists.

Discussion

The political theory introduced by the Muslims in the 19th century, included a significant school of anarchists, according to that theory, it is possible for a Muslim society to exist without the existence of a state, their theory of anarchism (Crone, pp.3-28). The mutazilited anarchists believed that the present government was not completely fair and inherently legitimate, but according to their observation, the inmates always showed the tendency to become King of the state, through the use of unrelenting force, which forced the people to go against the kingdom and its laws. Many Muslims snubbed this law, as this was unfair on people and also according to the methods prescribed for the Muslims in their Holy “Quran”, and Muslims strictly believed in the teaching of their Holy book, which strictly makes this law optional for the Muslims.

One the most important topics that Kymlicka discussed in his book, how anarchism became an essential part of the thoughts of the Western politics. According to some sources, anarchism came in to being in the west as a result of natural law tradition of the stoics, who had a vision of a golden age of society, even before the existence of their states. They forbade the theories of Aristotle and Plato, who believed in the coexistence of the state and society and felt that it is essential for both of them to go side by side, as it would be very hard to control the functionality of the state and the society individually. The stoics completely rejected this theory and later on went to prove that it is possible to run both the sate and the society individually, they proved that it is possible to conceive of the state as unnecessary.

As the history, of the west continues to move forward the theorists of the medieval natural law reconciled the Stoics imagination of the golden age of a society along with the fall of the mankind, according to which God ordered the ruler of the earth to bring an order to the debased falling humanity, which could only be done through the endurance of a sound and obedient political system. Even after that the Stoics maintained the belief in their theory of a golden age of a society, one governed by ethical reasons, and one which can exist without the institutions governed by the state law. Patricia states.

The Western Society have always found ways to think away from the existence of a state, some of them even think away from the society, to prove their point, of how hard and brutal it would be to live life under the strict rules ...
