Introduction

The world of business is evolving at a rapid pace, thus different organizations are adopting different tactics in order to expand their business. In order to expand the business, many firms are exploring the markets which can prove beneficial for them. Thus, the core objective is universal irrespective of the type of the company who tends to seek the expansion of the business and that goal is profit maximization. The exploration of the mew markets are based on different grounds, based on which an ideal market is selected for the company to enter. Thus, those grounds tend to be cheaper resources, low cost of labour, which tends to equip them with the competitive advantage. Plus, different organizations are looking for entering into the partnerships with organizations by exercising the influence over the organization through improved relationships (Gaddis 2007, pp.80).

The Business partnership however, only tends to depend upon the intent of two organization to effectively share risk, business actions, profits as well as their respective resources. In the context of the paper we tend to shed light on the possibility of partnership between the Apple Inc and the Foxconn. Apple Inc. is an American multinational corporation that develops and manufactures consumer electronics, software and personal computers. The most famous products of hardware Macintosh computers are IPod, iPhone and IPAD. Apple Software includes Mac OS X operating system, browser ITunes Media, iLife suite of multimedia and creativity software, office suite software IWORK, Aperture, a professional photography package, Final Cut Studio, a set of professional audio products and film-industry software, and Logic Studio, a set of audio tools. Since January 2010, the company operates 284 stores in ten countries, as well as an online store where hardware and software products are sold (www.apple.com).

Foxconn is known for its manufacture for a lot of technology products of famous companies such as iphone and ipad for Apple Inc., Hewlett-Packard, Dell computer, and others countless devices for well-known high technology customers around the world. The Chinese electronics contract manufacturer has secured a dominant market position refining its vertically integrated model and developing a highly efficient supply chain (www.foxconn.com). This study will therefore critically analyze the challenges and benefits of doing business partnership in China for the American enterprises along with the challenges in line with the Apple as it tends to shifts their manufacturing across China.
