ABSTRACT

Behaviorism is the combination of beliefs which indicates that the behaviors are measurable and they can be polished and changed and it is also known as the Behavioral psychology. The behavioral psychology is the theory that is based upon the concepts that the behavior of any individual is based upon the condition and these conditions are produced by interacting with the environment. The behavior can be studied systematically without any knowledge of the internal mental status.Behaviorist

Introduction

Behaviorism is the combination of beliefs which indicates that the behaviors are measurable and they can be polished and changed and it is also known as the Behavioral psychology. The behavioral psychology is the theory that is based upon the concepts that the behavior of any individual is based upon the condition and these conditions are produced by interacting with the environment. The behavior can be studied systematically without any knowledge of the internal mental status (cherry K 2013).

History

The foundations of the theory of behaviorism were laid by the psychologist John B. Watson. He gave a concept that was against the introspective psychologies. According to John b. Watson, sense of consciousness of an individual is same as his soul. The old psychology was a delicate form of the religious psychology and the concepts of behaviorism are formulated to bring a new and tidy change in the old psychology (John, B. 1929). The concept of introspection is no longer available in the behaviorism and the observations that can be made by the independent observers are acceptable. The psychology became an experimental field by the introduction of these concepts. The concepts and theories of Watson provided a strong trend to the psychology and his observations were foretell by developments that could be brought in the school of thought.
